Hyerin Seo at the Health Convergence Department Won the Best Presentation Award HTAsiaLink’s Annual Conference 2023

Hyerin Seo, a graduate student at the Department of Health Convergence (Advisor: Jeonghoon Ahn), won the Best Oral Presentation Award at the 11th HTAsiaLink Conference (Sept. 4th-7th) in Putrajaya, Malaysia.
HTAsiaLink is a network of organizational and individual members involved in Health Technology Assessment (HTA) research and evidence-based policy decision-making in Asian and Pacific regions. The network started to share information and experiences about health technology and strengthen research capacity. More than thirty organizations from nineteen countries – including South Korea, China, Thailand, and Australia – are members of this network.
The title of the research paper presented by Hyerin Seo was Evidence Generation of Treatment Strategy Based on a Fracture Risk Assessment in the Patients with Glucocorticoid Induced Osteoporosis. Her paper compared the effects and costs of FRAX-based treatment strategies, which are recommended in medical guidelines, with existing density-based prescription standards when deciding treatment strategies for fracture prevention of patients using glucocorticoid and carried out budget impact analysis of FRAX-based treatment strategies.
