The UX design & Research lab of the Content Convergence department, is awarded the 'iF Design Award 2023'

Professor Hanyoung Ryu · Seungeun Jung's research team of the UX design & Research lab in the Content Convergence department of the College of Science & Industry Convergence has been partnering with LG display to make ‘S - Fire Safety Module Experience,’ which is a product of the national R&D project. This design has been honored an award in the DISCIPLINE PROFESSIONAL CONCEPT area of the universal design award, the ‘iF Design Award 2023.’
The ‘S - Fire Safety Module Experience’ is the output of a R&D project(project name: invention of design and structure of stretchable displays for electronic and smart devices), progressed with the support of Korea Evaluation Institute of Industrial Technology(KEIT)'s 'innovation of industrial technology enterprise.' It is a soft wearable device herb system, using the next-generation stretchable display's elasticity and flexibility as its characteristics and strengths. Suggesting new user interfaces such as a form-responsive interface, this can bring an innovation to the fire-fighting experience in public calamities. Because of this, the jury of 133 design experts from various countries assessed this design highly and chose it for the winning prize. This year, about 11,000 designs from 56 countries entered the contest and fiercely competed to be awarded.
Located in Hanover, Germany, the ‘iF International Forum Design’ is the world's oldest independent design institution, and it gives out the iF Design Award to the best design every year. The iF Design Award has been acknowledged for its assistance in developing and promoting excellent designs since 1954, and is one of the most prestigious and famous design awards worldwide. The iF logo is a global symbol that guarantees outstanding designs. The entries compete in areas of product, packaging, communication, service, architecture, interior design, specialized concept, user experience(UX), and user interface(UI), and are chosen as awardees. All awarded pieces can be seen online on the iF official homepage, and they are also on display at the iF Design exhibition in Hamburg, Germany.
