Department of Content Convergence research professor Kim Yubin, elected for the Seoul Smart-city committee member

In the College of Science & Industry Convergence, Department of Content Convergence research professor Kim Yubin has been elected for the Seoul Smart-city committee member.
The Smart-city committee is made up of inner and outer specialists in order to use civilian expertise and creative ideas for the establishment of a master plan related to Seoul’s smart-city and digitization, and the deliberation · adjustment · consultation of main points. The committee’s position of the ex-officio is five people, including Oh Sehun co-chairman(mayor of Seoul). And the position of appointment is made up of specialists in each areas of the industry ecosystem, public administration, and digital technology(digital health care, digital platform, metaverse, AI, digital government etc). The newly elected committee members have received their appointment letter on March 29th Wednesday at the '2023 1st regular conference of the Smart-city committee', opened at the Seoul city hall.
Kim Yubin research professor participated in this committee, being acknowledged as one of the best creative and innovative woman leaders by leading various researches and projects on the basis of her specialty in the science & industry convergence ICT area and metaverse · immersive contents area. Through committee activities, Kim Yubin research professor plans to carry out consultation and decision making about the Seoul metaverse project at the smart-city committee for the next two years, and contribute to playing a significant role in the smart-city materialization using digital technology effectively.
Kim Yubin research professor, who has been appointed as a committee member, is a professional in the area of ICT design and is a rising researcher in the four-phases BK21 ‘Education and Research Team of Human-AI user-experience design’ of the school’s Department of Content Convergence. She is making excellent results through active multidisciplinary convergence researches. Along with this, she is holding various posts in the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Korea Intelligence Digitization Agency consultative committee, Industrial Design Society of America specialist committee etc, and she is taking the lead to improve governmental public services by using up-to-date technology.
Also, she is the non-executive director of one of Seoul’s public institution, the Seoul Digital Foundation. Recently, she signed an industry-university collaboration MOU with the Graduate School of Content Convergence(dean Ryu Hanyoung professor) and co-developed a user-experience(UX) centered subject. She is undertaking a industry · government · university collaboration class in order to provide innovative smart-city experiences with participating graduates. This project is a part of Seoul’s Donghaeng project, which is for the socially weak who have a hard time using communication and digital devices. The goal is to construct an AR guiding service utilizing a VPS 3D immersive map on the basis of flight · vehicle LiDAR’s city-space data.
