Professor Kim Malborg winning the “Dance Educator Award” at the “2022 Dance Vision Awards,” hosted by The Modern Dance P

Professor Kim Malborg of the Department of Dance won the “Dance Educator Award” at the “2022 Dance Vision Awards,” held at the Seoul Artists’ Platform on February 26 (Sat), for her contribution to the development of Korean dance and education.


“Dance Vision” is the award that was introduced in 1990 by The Modern Dance Promotion of Korea to encourage creative activities of dance artists and protect their rights and interests, currently awarding the main awards in 12 categories every year. The Modern Dance Promotion of Korea selected Professor Kim Malborg as the winner of this award in recognition of her leading efforts in seeking change and development of dance as an integrated art, the value pursued in the 21st century, through academic research, invigoration of performances, and development of various dance education programs.


Professor Kim Malborg has served in the Department of Dance at Ewha Womans University for 30 years since 1992, establishing the academic foundation of Korean dance studies, producing the next-generation researchers, and contributing to the international exchange and globalisation of Korean dance arts. She conducted joint research with scholars in various academic fields, wrote dance textbooks at the Ministry of Educatinon, published 20 books and 40 theses, including two English books, winning a number of academic and writing excellence awards.
