Showcasing Smart City Research Achievements and Hosting a Seminar
Connecting Outstanding Research with Industry to Foster a Global Innovation Ecosystem


The Technology Commercialization Center of the Industry–Academic Cooperation Foundation (Director: Will-Yeom Cho) participated in the “World CITY Tech Expo 2025,” organized by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), held from Wednesday, September 24 to Friday, September 26 at KINTEX Exhibition Center I in Ilsan. During the event, the Center showcased Ewha Womans University’s outstanding research achievements in the field of smart cities and hosted a seminar.

산학협력단 기술사업화센터, 글로벌 2025 월드 시티테크 엑스포 참여At the exhibition booth, the Ewha Research Institute for Architecture and Urban Convergence Technology led the presentation of research and start-up outcomes in areas such as urban systems, safety and disaster management, eco-friendly architecture, and IT convergence. The Center also promoted “Ewha Tech-Net,” a corporate membership program operated by the Technology Commercialization Center, to strengthen networking with companies in the smart city sector and to explore opportunities for technology commercialization.

Ewha representatives explained the technologies in demand by buyers from different countries and discussed possible matches with the university’s research results. They also explored potential avenues for follow-up collaboration, including joint research and technology transfer.

산학협력단 기술사업화센터, 글로벌 2025 월드 시티테크 엑스포 참여On Thursday, September 25, a seminar titled “Integration of AI and Smart City Technologies” was held, featuring Professor Jae-Han Lim, Professor Sung-Joo Hwang, and Dr. So-Yoon Kim from the Department of Architecture and Urban Systems Engineering at Ewha Womans University as speakers. They presented their latest research outcomes and case studies and discussed collaboration opportunities with corporate and institutional participants. The seminar served as an opportunity to highlight the excellence of Ewha Womans University’s research and to discover new possibilities for industry–academia cooperation.

산학협력단 기술사업화센터, 글로벌 2025 월드 시티테크 엑스포 참여The World City Tech Expo is a global exhibition that brings together cutting-edge technologies in smart cities, digital twins, urban regeneration, and ESG to envision the future of urban innovation. The event attracts a large number of overseas buyers and domestic and international companies and institutions, providing a platform for global exchange. Through its participation, Ewha Womans University promoted the excellence of its smart city research and established a foundation for expanding its global industry–academic cooperation network.


Director Will-Yeom Cho of the Industry–Academic Cooperation Foundation stated, “I am pleased to see that Ewha Tech-Net, the corporate membership program newly established in 2018 when I served as Associate Director for Industry–Academic Cooperation, has become active.” He added, “We will continue to provide strong support so that the university can become a reliable partner in the regional industrial ecosystem through sustainable and mutually beneficial collaboration with companies.”
