Greetings,
You are cordially invited to the 27th Intercultural Dialogue which will take place on Monday, May 26, 2025, at 5:00 PM in Room B151, POSCO Building, Ewha Womans University.
The Intercultural Dialogue is jointly hosted by the Center for Multicultural Research and the Office of International Affairs at Ewha Womans University.
The Intercultural Dialogue serves as a platform for open and respectful exchange among individuals and groups with diverse ethnic, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds. It encourages mutual understanding and respect, and is grounded in the ability to freely express oneself and the willingness to attentively listen to others (Council of Europe, 2008). In this session, an international student will share 'Their experiences of university life in her home country and their study abroad experience in Korea'. Through this sharing, Ewha students and the speaker will engage in a meaningful exchange under the theme “Learn from Each Other.”
This will be a valuable opportunity for Ewha students to enhance their intercultural sensitivity and develop deeper insight into other ways of life in our global era—an experience that will enrich their lives and broaden their perspectives.
This time, we are pleased to welcome Akiyama Sugako, an international student from Japan, as the speaker.
Sugako is currently pursuing her master’s degree in the Interdisciplinary Program in Multicultural and Intercultural Studies at Ewha’s Graduate School. Through her story, participants will gain a better understanding of how others view the world from different cultural perspectives, and will be invited to pause, reflect on their own assumptions, and explore new ways of thinking.
It promises to be a truly thought-provoking and meaningful time for all.
This event is open to everyone.
A Q&A session will follow the talk, offering a chance for deeper exchange and communication.
We warmly invite you to join us for an engaging and enriching experience.
Sincerely,
Han-Up Jang
