Alumna Yeon-hee Chae (2011 master’s degree graduate in nursing), the CEO of Seyoung Distribution, donated a “Nursing Science Center Construction Fund” of KRW 100 million to Ewha toward the goal of establishing the Ewha West Campus. Ewha invited Alumna Chae on August 7 (Wed.) to hold a fund award ceremony, where she was greeted with words of gratitude. The ceremony was attended by President Eun Mee Kim, Executive Vice President for External Affairs Kyung-Shik Shin, Vice President for University Relations and Development Min-Jung Park, and Associate Vice President for University Relations and Development Hyemi Lee, along with Professor Sook Ja Yang from the College of Nursing, who was a respected teacher of Alumna Chae.

Alumna Chae operates the prominent food service and food ingredients distribution company Seyoung Distribution with her husband, and remarked, “The leadership skills and unique spirit I acquired at Ewha laid the foundation of my foray into the food service business alongside my research and experiences from majoring in nursing, which allowed me to give it my all without neglecting even the most minute details.” She noted, “I am pleased to support a new beginning for the College of Nursing at Ewha Womans University through the establishment of its future campus,” and added, “No matter which career they choose, I hope my junior alumnae will unleash their boundless potential based on the lessons they learned at Ewha.”
President Eun Mee Kim commented, “The efforts of Alumna Chae in dedicating her utmost efforts to her current occupation in addition to her generous support for her alma mater and junior alumnae will no doubt inspire countless people,” and proclaimed, “We will continue our commitment to support the College of Nursing at Ewha, which started the journey of nursing education for the first time in Korea, in continuing its tradition and renown on a new campus.”
