On May 7th at the ECC Gallery, a banquet was hosted by the Vice President of OIA (Office of International Affairs) for the ‘Ewha Global Partnership Program(EGPP)’ scholarship recipients. The celebratory event took place to encourage EGPP students as well as to build networks between current students and alumni starting from 2012.

EGPP is a global initiative operated by Ewha Womans University with the goal of educating students from developing countries in becoming professionals and global leaders in the 21st century. The program commemorates the founding spirit of Mary F. Scranton, who started Ewha in 1886, and gives back to the community, just as Ewha has received from others. Qualified women from the developing world are given an opportunity to study at Ewha with a full scholarship which includes full tuition, on-campus dormitory fees, and airfare.

Since its beginning in 2006, 193 students from 38 countries have been selected and 98 students from 23 countries have graduated. More than half of EGPP graduates have either continued to study or teach as lecturers and professors. The rest have carved out their future by securing positions at renowned Korean or other international companies.
