Ewha Womans University has completed the construction of its University-Industry Cooperation Building, the global research network center that will lead future science endeavors. The dedication ceremony was held in the afternoon of April 2.

The University-Industry Cooperation Building is home to many research-related agencies such as the research center of the world’s renowned chemical company Solvay, the Western Seoul Center of Korea Basic Science Institute (KBSI), and the Business Incubation Center and Institute for Brain Science of Ewha. With a total of six floors, including one underground, the total area of the building is 25,833 square meters.

The dedication ceremony included an unveiling ceremony for the building’s commemorative wall, which recognizes the key donors. Over 40 central figures within Ewha and outside of the university celebrated the completion of the University-Industry Cooperation Building at the ribbon-cutting ceremony and wished a bright future for Ewha’s vision for Science Ewha.

Ewha’s University-Industry Cooperation Building is the first university-industry collaboration center in Korea. Equipped with leading research facilities, the building houses the state-of-the-art equipment for special chemicals at Ewha-Solvay Global R&D Center; high-tech equipment worth 30 billion won at the KBSI, including a nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer, mass spectrometer and ultra-high resolution microscope; and a 3.0T magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system at Ewha’s Institute for Brain Science. Outstanding research workforce to manage such facilities will also work at the building.
