Ewha Career Festa Held, Offering the First Step on a Career Path for Freshmen

The Career Development Center (CDC) hosted the 2014 Ewha Career Festa at ECC Multipurpose Hall from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on March 11 and 12. The event was designed for incoming students to seek mentoring advice from senior students on how to embark on a new life on the college campus, explore their career interests and develop their capacity towards a chosen career path.
The fair featured over 30 booths installed by Ewha students who are actively preparing for future careers through various career development groups, internships and the state exam prep club, as well as extracurricular activities, international exchange student programs and volunteer activities. Freshmen students were encouraged to browse booths of their interest, seeking information and advice on their areas of concern. In addition, they were offered career counseling by CDC through career mentoring and career navigation programs.
The CDC explained the purpose of the event, “This fair is intended to enhance the four-year experience of being in college beyond a mere gate to employment, and instead into a meaningful journey to find and plan future directions in life,” and added, “It will serve as an opportunity for students to reflect upon their university life and receive useful advice for the future, not only for freshmen, but also for sophomores and juniors.”
