The Ewha Residential College Selected as an Excellent Example of Empowering Education Support Project

On March 3, the Ewha Residential College (Ewha RC), a system to nurture future leaders, was recognized for its achievement and selected as an excellent example of education infrastructure among outstanding cases in the 2013 Empowering Education Support Project.
As global hub for women’s education, Ewha has established its Ewha RC system as a community of learning, living, and sharing that nurtures Ewha students into future leaders. Through Ewha RC, the first residential college implemented among universities located in Seoul, freshmen receive education on humanism, society, and global leadership, as well as learn to implement Ewha’s spirit of service and sharing.
The first phase of the pilot project, begun in the 2013 fall semester, received feedback that it significantly heightened students’ sense of belonging and satisfaction with school life. The scale of the second-phase pilot project, which started in the 2014 spring semester, was extended further to accommodate over 440 incoming students to the Ewha RC. The orientation for RC freshmen was held on March 1 to introduce various events scheduled for the semester. President Kim Sun-Uk was invited as a guest and advised the students to do their best in the given environment and practice leadership through sharing.
