During the Winter Faculty-led Study Abroad Program in January and February 2014, a total of 22 teams of Ewha students strengthened their global capacity by participating in a number of experience programs including expert lectures, seminars, and field training in Asia, the United States, and Europe.

The Faculty-led Study Abroad Program is a short-term intensive study program designed and accompanied by Ewha faculty. Students and faculty visit universities and organizations around the world during school vacations to participate in lectures and seminars with renowned scholars overseas. The program is popular among undergraduate students since they both take part in field training and earn course credit or transfer credit for their participation.

During the 2013-14 winter vacation, the program was offered to students from a wide range of disciplines including the arts, humanities, natural sciences, education, and business administration. In particular, this winter’s program was attended by 249 students, the largest number since its launch in 2008. Destinations spanned from the United States to countries across Asia and Europe.

Since its launch in 2008, the Faculty-led Study Abroad Program has marked its 12th event after being offered twice a year during each semester break. A total of 135 teams of over 1,800 students have thus far enjoyed the opportunities for global education through this program. Now as one of Ewha’s representative global programs, the Faculty-led Study Abroad Program provides students with opportunities to experience different areas in various fields overseas and expand their perspective and knowledge as leaders of the future.
