Ewha Establishes Strategic Partnership with UC Irvine
On September 26, 2013, Ewha President Kim Sun-Uk visited the University of California, Irvine to discuss plans to strive at becoming the best universities in the world both as partners in student and faculty exchange and in a wide range of academic research.
In April 2013, Ewha and UC Irvine signed an MOU to collaborate on research and student and faculty exchange. Additionally, UC Irvine President Michael V. Drake invited President Kim to establish a strategic partnership with Ewha.
During this visit, President Kim discussed student and activity exchange with the UC Irvine School of Humanities and Clair Trevor School of the Arts. Also discussed was the establishment of a resident student and faculty exchange program with the School of Medicine. In addition, the president introduced the achievements of “Science Ewha” at a meeting with the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences; she also visited the School of Law to discuss an agreement between the law schools of the two universities.
The Ewha delegation also visited the UC Irvine Medical Center, Simulation Lab, and Stem Cell Research Center. At the dinner held at the office of the President of UC Irvine, the Ewha delegation and President Michael V. Drake reconfirmed the will for further exchange and collaboration between the two universities.
