Ewha held the annual "Ewha Family Christmas Church Service" in the auditorium on Thursday, December 6, at 3 p.m. to share the spirit of Christmas with the Ewha community.

Ewha President Sun-Uk Kim delivered Christmas greetings at the start of the service, saying "I appreciate all alumni, faculty members, beloved undergraduates, and parents of students in attendance at this Christmas worship." Following the greeting, President Kim added, "Each December, we reflect on our present status by looking back at the past. I hope this service gives you the chance to appreciate and reflect on the past year through prayer and meditation. In addition, I hope that 2013 brings a new year for Ewha women to realize their hopes and dreams."

During the Christmas church service, cosponsored by Ewha and the alumni association, clergyman Sung-Il Kim of Kyungbok church preached on the theme of "God’s presents." Along with the sermon, the service included a performance by the Music College’s choir, dressed in the Christmas colors of red, green, and white, and a performance of the Korean classical music orchestra. Thirty undergraduates wearing Santa costumes sang a medley of Christmas carols, accompanied by the Ewha Korean classical music orchestra. At the end of the service, all attendees were surprised by small Christmas presents.

This year marked the 17th Christmas church service held by Ewha, and drew more than 2,500 people, including faculty members, undergraduates, alumni, retired faculty members, and local residents. All donations made during the service will go to sending Christmas presents to Ewha missionaries around the world.
