Ewha Ranked 4th Among Korean Universities from Asian University Evaluation

Boasting Excellent Research Quality and Degree of Globalization
Ewha ranked 4th among universities in Korea and 42nd among universities in Asia from Asia's university evaluation compiled by the Chosun Ilbo and global university evaluation institute QS of the U.K. The evaluation was conducted among 463 universities in 11 Asian countries, including 106 in Korea, and is the only such survey for the continent.
The factors that contributed to such result were the good evaluation results from the research quality and degree of globalization. Ewha ranked 3rd place among universities in Korea for citation counts from research papers, which shows the direct impact of the university's research capacity. The overall ranking of research capacity of Ewha ranked eleventh in Asia. Ewha's degree of globalization ranked 4th in Korea and 15th in Asia, proving Ewha's reputation power in the world. Ewha totaled the score of 70.1 following Seoul National University(94.5), Yonsei University(82.8), and Korea University(74.8).
In the evaluation of academic areas which includes the areas of 'Liberal Arts and Art', 'Bio and Medical Science', 'Natural Science', 'Social Science' and 'Engineering and IT', Ewha ranked 4th in the 'Social Science', and 5th in the 'Liberal Arts and Art' area among Korean universities and proved its competency.
The University of Hong Kong topped the list and Among Korean universities, KAIST was 7th, followed by Seoul National University at 8th. The top 100 Asian universities include 17 Korean universities, 33 Japanese, 11 Chinese, seven Indian, six in Hong Kong and two in Singapore.
The universities were ranked for competitiveness in four categories - research quality (60 percent), education quality (20 percent), recruiter review (10 percent) and degree of globalization (10 percent).
Universities were ranked through a quantitative analysis based on data submitted by the universities in March and a qualitative analysis based on the competitiveness of professors and graduates evaluated by about 3,100 academics and business people around the world.
