The Second 'Historic Site Exploration with the President' at Gyeongbokgung Held

The 'Historic Site Exploration with the President' led by president Lee Bae-Yong was held at Gyeongbokgung on April 10th with 70 Ewha students including 10 foreign students.

The 'Historic Site Exploration with the President' is one of the programs of 'Ewha Renaissance Project', which was designed to foster global leaders with humanistic grounding. The visit to Gyeongbokgung is a following event of the visit to Jongmyo in October last year.



Lee led the students to Geunjeongjeon, Sajeongjeon, Gyeonghoeru, and Jagyeonjeon in Gyeongbokgung and explained history of each site and taught the wisdom of our ancestors.

Lee allocated some time to have a talk with students and emphasized the importance of having humanistic grounding. "Gyeongbokgung is one of our badly ruined heritage during the Japanese colonial times. We should always remember and think about what we can do to make ourselves ready to confront difficult times. We should try to learn from our history and be armed with pride about our heritage if we are to become true global leaders."

Kim Jinhee(Economics, 05) who participated in the tour said, "It was a unique experience to meet our president as a historian. She explained every interesting details so that we could have more in-depth understanding of our history and culture."

Zahra Razouli(Political Science and Diplomacy, 06) said, "Every word that the president said was very informative. I hope that more students can experience this tour."
