Ewha Womans University held the 2024 Fall commencement ceremony on August 29 at the Welch-Ryang Auditorium for a total of 2,280 graduates, including 1,142 bachelor’s, 1,003 master’s, and 135 doctoral degree recipients. The ceremony was attended by over 2,000 graduates and distinguished guests, including Chairperson Chang Myong-Sue of the Ewha Womans University Board of Trustees, President Hyang-Sook Lee, and President Lee Myung Kyung of the Ewha Alumnae Association. Families of the graduates celebrated the event through the livestream in waiting rooms prepared at Emerson Chapel and the Ewha Campus Complex.

She went on to speak of Ewha’s beginnings as Korea’s first educational institution for women and its evolution into a global leader in women’s education ever since. She urged the graduates to “embrace Ewha’s spirit of innovative and insightful values and grow into bold leaders who put the principles of sharing and service into practice.”

After graduating from the Department of Content Convergence at Ewha, she entered the integrated master’s and doctoral course at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in 2020 and earned a doctorate degree by completing the course in five years and six months. She has now been appointed as the youngest full-time faculty member of the Department of Electronics and Information Engineering at Soongsil University, starting from this fall semester. Recognized for her research achievements in visual artificial intelligence and computer vision, she stated, “It was with the support of my alma mater that I was able to join the Soongsil University faculty.”

In particular, Ewha’s global achievements were highlighted by the graduation of six participants (three bachelor’s and three master’s degree recipients) under the Ewha Global Partnership Program (EGPP), a full-tuition scholarship program for talented women from developing countries.
