Dong-Hoon Hyun Professor
Life Sciences/Department of Life Science
Professor Dong-Hoon Hyun is a faculty of Department of Life Science, College of Natural Sciences and an expert in research on reactive oxygen species. Prof. Hyun obtained a PhD degree at King’s College London, UK and finished post-doctoral fellowship at the National Institute on Aging. He became a faculty at Ewha Womans Univeristy in 2007 and is doing research on aging intervention and therapy for neurodegenerative diseases (e.g. Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases) over 15 years. He has got more than 30 research and review articles published in top-grade journals (PNAS, Ageing Res. Rev., J. Neurochem.). His research fields are (1) Regulation of reduction/oxidation by the mitochondria and redox enzymes in the plasma membrane, (2) Aging intervention, and (3) Prevention and therapy of Alzheimer’s disease using phytochemicals.
