CHOI Mikyung is Professor at GSTI in the French section. She holds a B.A. and a M.A. in French Language and Literature obtained at Seoul National University, a Ph.D. of French Literature granted by Sorbonne University Paris 4, a Translator Diploma and a Ph.D. in translation studies granted by  cole Sup rieure d'Interpr tes et de Traducteurs (ESIT), Sorbonne Nouvelle University Paris 3. 
As a literary translator, she translated a number of volumes of Korean modern literature into French, allowing books by Hwang Sok-Yong, Lee Seung-U and many others to be read by French speaking readers : some of these books have been published by major publishing houses, some have been re-issued in pocket collections (Folio, Points/Seuil, 10/18). Lee Seung-U is the first Korean writer to have entered the famous Gallimard Folio collection. 
As a Conference interpreter, she had the opportunity to work for important international conferences like the 2018 Korea-France summit, Korea-Senegal Summit, 2014 Korea-Swiss Summit, Korea and France Prime Ministers Meetings in 2011 and 2013, Korea-Gabon Summits in 2010 and 2012, Korea-Congo Summit in 2010. She is often invited to interpret in the fields of Economy, Industry, Science and Culture.
As an academic researcher, she published a number of articles pertaining to translation methodology : one has been issued by Meta, a most respected review in the field of translation studies, two by Synergie, and seven others by KCI level reviews. 
She has been granted few awards: Daesan Foundation Grand Prix for Translation (1999), Prix France-Cor e (2005), the 10thLiterary translation Award (GrandPrix) by the Korean Literature Translation Institute in 2011, and Palmes acad miques (Chevalier) by the French Ministry of Education.
She devotes personal interest to Social Justice and issues on Environment and Animal Protection.
