권미정 교수는 자연과학대학 생명과학과 소속 교수로 고해상도 이미징 전문가이며, 암세포생물학 및 유전체학을 연구하고 있다. 미국 캘리포니아 주립대 (University of California, Davis) 박사학위 후 Harvard Medical School 과 다나파버 암 연구소 (Dana-Farber Cancer Institute) 를 거쳐, 2020년 3월 모교인 본교에 부임했다. 미국 Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation 의 Fellow 와 Leukemia and Lymphoma Society 의 Special Fellow 로 선정되어 연구를 수행하였다. < Nature>, <Developmental Cell>, <Genes and Development> 등 국제학술지에 다수의 논문을 발표하였으며, 분자영상과 단일세포 유전체학을 접목하여 암발병원인 및 이를 통한 신약개발에 관한 연구를 활발히 진행하고 있다.
