Prof. Kwangdong Roh is a faculty member in the Department of Physics at Ewha Womans University, where he conducts research on emerging semiconductor materials for next-generation optoelectronic devices. His work focuses on the precise control of light–matter interactions and the optical properties of materials, with an emphasis on understanding and manipulating the fundamental processes of photon generation. He is broadly interested in exploring diverse light-emission phenomena and leveraging these insights toward new optical functionalities and device concepts. His research takes an integrated approach, spanning material synthesis, optical characterization, photonic design, and device implementation. Before joining Ewha Womans University, Prof. Roh received his B.S. from Seoul National University in 2009 and his Ph.D. in Physics from Brown University in 2015, and completed his postdoctoral training at Princeton University.
