JaeHong Park is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Nanoscience at Ewha Womans University and Director of the Analysis Facility at the Institute for Multiscale Matter and Systems (IMMS). He earned his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania, carried out postdoctoral research at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), and later joined Kyoto University as a tenured Junior Associate Professor in the Department of Molecular Engineering before moving to Ewha Womans University. Professor Park’s research explores how photoexcitation creates functional energy states in molecular and nanoscale materials. His group combines ultrafast laser spectroscopy, time-resolved microwave conductivity, transient absorption spectroscopy, and time-resolved photoluminescence to investigate exciton dynamics, charge separation, free-carrier generation, and recombination processes in organic semiconductors, halide perovskites, molecular charge-transfer systems, and photoactive functional materials. By connecting molecular-level photophysics with macroscopic material and device performance, his work provides mechanistic insight into the design of next-generation optoelectronic, photochemical, and energy-conversion materials. He has published widely in leading journals, including Nature Communications, Journal of the American Chemical Society, Advanced Materials, ACS Energy Letters, Nano Letters, and Angewandte Chemie International Edition, and maintains active collaborations across photochemistry, spectroscopy, nanoscience, and energy materials.
