My research areas include behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia, inappropriate psychotropics use to control challenging behaviors, and quality of care in relation to the nursing workforce across US long-term care facilities. My research interest originated from my clinical experiences as a registered nurse in medical care wards and geriatric care units. The clinical experience enabled me to improve my knowledge on managing behavioral symptoms with the minimal use of psychotropic medications and developing individualized care plans to provide a comfortable environment and address the person’s unmet needs.
