Professor Tae-Young Roh has been appointed since March 2023 to the “LIVE Research Center” (Director: Woojin Chung), a leading division of Ewha Womans University’s Ewha Frontier 10-10 Program, as a distinguished expert in epigenomic analysis utilizing next-generation omics technologies. He is conducting research on the regulation of gene expression mediated by epigenetic factors in cancer and stem cells.
He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry (Biochemistry) from Seoul National University and subsequently served as a Research Fellow at the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH). From July 2008 to February 2023, he was a faculty member in the Department of Life Sciences at Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH).
Amid growing global efforts and investment to overcome cancer, his research focuses on epigenetic mechanisms of tumorigenesis and cell fate determination. In particular, he integrates bio-big data and advanced bioinformatics approaches with experimental systems, including organoids and mouse disease models, to develop innovative strategies for cancer therapy.
