Prof. Sang Won Kang in Department of Life Sciences is a leading scientist in the field of reactive oxygen species-mediated signal transduction. He began to study the ROS signaling in NIH, U.S., with postdoctoral career, as a pioneer in the field. He is particularly interested in the mechanism of ROS function in the signal transduction and furthermore tries to apply the research result to the medical aspects to find a clue for human chronic diseases, such as cancer and vascular diseases. Since he joined the department, he published the important results on the high-impact journals (e.g. Nature, Molecular Cell, etc). He is also actively involved in the proteomics society.
