Professor Won-Woo Nam received his Ph.D degree in Inorganic Chemistry from UCLA in 1990. Now he is a Distinguished Professor of the Department of Chemistry and Nano Science. His current research focuses on the dioxygen activation, water oxidation, and sensors for metal ions in bioinorganic chemistry. Prof. Nam has published over 240 articles in the high impact journals such as Nature, Nature Chemistry, Angewandte Chemie, and JACS. He received Tai-Kyu Rhee Academic Award (2012), Excellent Research Award at Ewha (2008), the 3rd Kyung-Ahm Academic Award (2007), and named as a Role Model Scientist, Korea Science Foundation (2008). His activities in chemical society are Associate Editor of Chemical Science, Editorial Advisory Board of Accounts of Chemical Research, Inorganic Chemistry, Chemical Communications, etc.
