Prof. Dong Hae Shin, a professor at the College of Pharmacy, is an expert in the field of structural genomics. He had received a Ph. D at Seoul National University and became a staff scientist at the Berkeley Lawrence National Laboratory. He was involved in the Protein Structure Initiative I Project and proved the superiority of Protein X-ray crystallography for identification of molecular functions of hypothetical proteins compared with traditional methods. Until now, he has published approximately 60 scientific papers. His group focuses on the development of druggable compounds applicable to Parkinson's disease, allergy and melioidosis using the combined approach of X-ray crystallography, modeling and in-silico screening.
