김동은 교수는 신산업융합대학 의류산업학과 소속 부교수로 의복구성/개발 분야의 전문가이다. 미국 미네소타주립대학교(University of Minnesota)에서 박사학위를 받았으며 미국의 Marc Ecko Enterprises에서 테크니컬 디자이너로 근무하였다. 3차원 바디스캐너와 3차원 가상착의 시스템, 3D 프린팅, 3D 모델링, 패턴CAD 등의 다양한 테크놀어지를 이용하여 인체계측, 사이즈 체계, 패턴설계, 기능성 의복/스포츠웨어 개발 등의 다양한 연구를 진행하고 있다.
