김동욱 교수는 이화여자대학교 물리학전공 소속 교수로 나노전자/광전자 소자 분야에서 연구 활동을 하고 있다. 2001년 서울대학교 물리학과에서 박사학위를 받았으며 이후 삼성종합기술원 책임연구원(2001-2005년), 미국 UC San Diego 방문연구원(2003-2005년), 한양대학교(안산) 응용물리학과 전임강사 및 조교수(2005-2008년)를 거쳐 2008년부터 이화여자대학교에서 재직 중이다.
2018년 한국물리학회 응용물리 학술상, 2017년 이화여자대학교 Best e-Class상, 2015년 이화여자대학교 연구실적 우수교수상, 2014년 Nano Korea 연구혁신부문 조직위원장상, 2012년 한국물리학회 JKPS 최다피인용논문상 등의 수상 실적이 있다.
