이병훈 교수는 화학신소재공학전공/시스템헬스융합전공(대학원) 소속 전임 교원으로 전도성 고분자 및 웨어러블 전자공학 관련 연구의 권위자이다. 광주과학기술원에서 전도성 고분자 연구로 박사 학위를 받았으며, University of California Santa Barbara(UCSB)에서 박사후연구원 과정을 통해 고분자 반도체 물성 및 유연 전자소자 관련 연구를 진행하였다. 현재 신축성 전자소자 및 다중 생체신호 측정용 유연 센서 개발 연구를 활발히 수행 중이며, 관련 분야 약 60여편의 SCI급 논문을 발표하였다. 한국고분자학회 및 한국화학공학회에서 학술지 편집위원 및 산학 간사로 활동한 바 있으며, 현재 한국재료학회에서 편집이사로 활동 중이다. 2020년에는 한국고분자학회에서 수여하는 신진학술상을 수상한 바 있다.
