임재웅 교수는 과학교육과(화학전공) 교수로 무기화학을 전공으로 박사학위를 취득했다. 다공성 물질인 금속-유기 골격체(metal-organic framework, MOF)에 대한 연구를 진행하고 있으며, 특히 MOF의 구조 설계 및 변형을 통해 이온 전달체, 촉매, 센서, 흡착제 등 다양한 응용 분야에 대한 연구를 수행하고 있다.
