김영태 교수는 사범대학 일반대학원 언어병리학과 소속 교수로 아동언어장애 분야 연구의 권위자다. 미국 플로리다대에서 언어병리학 석사 및 박사학위를 받았으며, 미국언어임상가 자격증(CCC/SLP)과 한국언어재활사 자격증을 취득한 바 있다. 현재 자폐범주성장애, 단순언어장애, 언어결핍환경의 언어문제 및 보완대체의사소통 등에 대한 연구를 진행하고 있다. 한국언어청각임상학회장 및 이대 발달장애아동센터 소장을 역임하였으며 저서로 『아동언어장애의 진단 및 치료』 『의사소통의 이해』 『단일대상연구』 등이 있고 PRES, REVT, SELSI 등 다수의 언어장애 평가도구를 개발 및 표준화하였다. 또한 다수의 논문을 국내 및 국제 저명 학술지에 게재하였다.
