윤창상 교수는 신산업융합대학 의류산업학과 소속으로 의류소재 및 의류관리 분야를 담당하고 있으며, 서울대학교 의류학과에서 박사학위를 받았다. 스마트 의류관리 시스템, 3D 가상화를 위한 의류소재 감성지수화, 지속가능한 의생활, 직물 문화유산 분석 및 보존처리, 고기능성 의류소재 개발 등의 연구를 진행하고 있으며, 이의 결과를 Textile Research Journal, Fibers and Polymers, Fashion and Textiles, International Journal of Clothing Science and Technology, Energy Efficiency, Polymers, RSC Advances, Current Applied Physics 등과 같은 SCI(E)급 국제학술지에 발표하였다.
