홍소희 교수는 의과대학 미생물학교실 소속으로, 면역학을 전공하였습니다. 미국 미주리 주립대학교와 에모리 대학교 의과대학에서 자가면역 질환에 대한 연구를 수행하였으며, 현재는 다양한 백신에 대한 면역반응 분석, 예방 및 치료용 백신 개발, RNA 기반 면역 증강제 개발 등의 연구를 활발히 진행하고 있습니다. Science Advances, Nature Communications, Molecular Therpy 등을 비롯한 다수의 저명한 국제 학술지에 연구 성과를 발표하였습니다.
