The 2022 Project for the Graduate School of AI Convergence Innovation Industry-Academic Cooperation Forum Is Held

In order to strengthen the industry-academic cooperation, the government and company officials, professors, and students gathered all together

Special lectures were given by the representatives of participating companies


The 2022 Project for the Graduate School of AI Convergence Innovation Industry-Academic Cooperation Forum was successfully completed at the ECC Lee Sam-Bong Hall on September 14 (Wed).

Ewha Womans University was selected for the 2022 AI Convergence Innovation Talent Training Program supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT. Artificial Intelligence Major of the Division of AI Convergence was established in this semester with the goal of fostering high-quality human resources in the field of AI convergence


Choi Byung-joo, the manager of this project and the professor of computer science, has explained in his opening speech, "This event is the first meeting of 28 faculty members, 37 companies, and graduate students who are participating in the AI Convergence Innovation Talent Training Program,” adding, “We are looking forward to find out what cooperative measures each company will provide to foster human resources in this event.”


In her welcoming speech, Lee Hyang-sook, the head of the research center and the industry-academic cooperation team, has stressed the importance of industry-academic cooperation, saying, "The AI field has a great gap between the talent needed in the field and the talent cultivated by universities,” adding, “We desperately need active help from companies to foster human resources.”


"In the era of global hegemony, Korea needs to foster global AI convergence talent," said the government officials such as legislators including Cho Kyung-tae and Yoon Sang-hyun, and Kim Dae-nam, a presidential secretary for youth in a congratulatory speech, adding, "We wish Ewha Womans University a successful future in planning international cooperation, overseas internships, and start-ups to foster global talent.”

Under the theme of "Methods of Industry-Academic Cooperation for Training Practical Human Resources for Artificial Intelligence Convergence Innovation," special lectures of Park Il-pyeong on “Open innovation for a truly better life,” Hwang Hee on “Healthcare for everyone: Like Kakao,” and Yoon Song-yi on “AI for a better world” were held.

In the second part of the event, Ewha’s AI convergence education and industry cooperation plan was presented, followed by meetings where companies, professors, and graduate students could freely communicate. The Industry-Academic Cooperation Forum to develop AI for a better world will continue to be held every September.
