Director: Prof. Han-up Jang / Location of the center: Jin Sun Mi Hall

This project is a mutual cultural education project that Seoul has promoted since 2020 to train people with expertise and capabilities in cultural diversity education. The project includes Training for new instructors for foreign residents and naturalized citizens in Seoul, Education for existing cultural diversity instructors, and Development of new cultural diversity education content.

Ewha Womans University has been carrying out this project for three consecutive years since its first selection in 2020. In 2020, Ewha produced “Seoul cultural diversity education standard lesson plans” in six languages including Korean, and produced seven “cultural diversity education videos” in six languages in 2021. The currently developed materials for mutual culture education are distributed free of charge.

Through this project, the Center for Multiculture Research systematically trains professional instructors to select foreign residents and naturalized citizens of Seoul to lecture on cultural diversity. Professional instructors produced through this project will be sent to general institutions, kindergarten, and elementary, middle, and high schools to provide mutual cultural education.

Director Han-up Jang mentioned, “This is an important educational project that serves as an educational alternative that helps creating a mutual cultural society,” adding, “I hope our education content could strengthen the capabilities of foreign instructors and enhance their cultural sensitivity.”
