The "University Museum Promotion Support Project" of The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has been under the auspices of the Korea University Museum Association since 2018 in order to expand cultural welfare and education benefits to local people and teenagers through activating University Museums. Ewha museum has been selected annually since 2018 until now. In 2020, in particular, it was selected as the "Excellent Exhibition Museum" as the special exhibition of <19th Century Joseon Landscape>. The museum, which will host the Ewha Womans University Museum Culture Connector Project III in 2021, will prepare a special exhibition of <Plants and Art>  to play its role of the museum as a cultural platform.

The museum was also selected for the "2021 Museum Culture Day" contest hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korea Museum Association. Thus they will continuously run the "Culture Day, Museum Walk" program for three consecutive years. The program consists of art history courses on the Ewha collection, "Tales of Ewha Collection," and an fieldwork-like education program, "Create My Own Collection.” The program will be held on the last Wednesday of April-July 2021. Details of the event and participation can be found on the museum website (http://museum.ewha.ac.kr).

Selected for the second year project of “Studies on the Preservation and Utilization of Unclarified Buried Cultural Heritage" organized by the Cultural Heritage Administration

Following last year, the museum was selected for the Cultural Heritage Administration's 2021 Academic Research on Preservation and Utilization of Unclarified Relics, for the second year. The museum will conduct academic projects on the excavation of Hwango-dong Tumulus 33 (research conducted in 1965), Inwang-dong Tumulus149 (research conducted in 1973) and the Excavation of Gyeongju Hwang-ryong-sa-ji(research conducted in 1969). The project, which secures new historical resources and establishes an academic foundation by conducting a full survey of important historical resources and artifacts, will be carried out annually for the following four years and five months until 2024.

This year marks the 86th anniversary of the museum's opening. Ewha Museum will continue to preserve and study the luxurious collections that Ewha has been keeping and collecting for a long time. It will also develop the value and meaning of the collection through developing them as 21st-century cultural contents and sharing them with the visitors, including the Ewha family. The museum announced that, "we ask for huge participation and attention from Ewha alumnae. Ewha Museum will consistently enroll as a cultural connector.”
