Ewha University-Industry Collaboration Foundation(EUICF)(President: Hyokyung Bahn) is selected as an entrusted agency for Youngdeungpo-gu Center for Children's Food Service Management (president: Professor Yuri Kim of the Department of Nutritional Science & Food Management from the College of Science & Industry Convergence).

At the agreement ceremony held at Yeongdeungpo-gu Office on the 17th was attended by Hyunil Chai, head of Yeongdeungpo-gu, Bae Hyun-ah, vice president of EUICF, Na Young Hong, Dean of the College of Science & Industry Convergence, and Yuri Kim, professor of the Department of Nutritional Science & Food Management, who assumed the position of director of the center. Under the agreement, EUICF will systematically manage the hygiene and nutrition of school meals for 8,000 children at 241 catering facilities currently located in Yeongdeungpo-gu.

Under the Special Act on the Management of Children's Dietary Safety, the centers for children's food service management were first established in 2011 to support systematic and thorough hygiene and nutrition management for children's meal service centers (such as daycare centers, kindergartens, local children's centers) with less than 100 children, where it not obliged to hire nutritionists. There are currently 225 centers operating nationwide as of September 2019.

"It is pleasure to join hands with EUICF for safer school meals for local children," Hyunil Chai, head of Yeongdeungpo-gu said. “We will spare no effort in ensuring our children's hygienic and balanced diet, and in creating a child-friendly environment where parents can raise their children without any anxiety.”

Yuri Kim, the director of the center in Yeongdeungpo-gu, said “We are pleased to establish and run the Center for Children's Food Service Management in Yeongdeungpo-gu, the center of politics, finance, media and business. In cooperation with Yeongdeungpo-gu Office, we will make efforts towards ensuring health, safety, and nutritious meals for the local community as well as for children, based on Ewha’s profound, specialized infrastructures on food nutrition, children and infant education."

EUICF was entrusted with the Seodaemun-gu Center for Children's Food Service Management (Director: Professor Mi Sook Cho of the Department of Nutritional Science & Food Management) in 2019. As EUICF is entrusted with the Mapo-gu gu Center for Children's Food Service Management (Director: Professor Jieun Oh, the College of Science & Industry Convergence) in addition to Yeongdeungpo-gu’s this year, it currently operates three centers for children's food service management in southwestern Seoul.
