Eunji Suh of Food Engineering Major Is Selected for 2020 Science and Engineering Next Generation Support Project

Eunji Suh (Adviser: Jinbyung Park) of College of ELTEC Engineering’s food engineering major was finally selected for 2020 Science and Engineering Next Generation Support Project’s the PhD research grant supported by the Ministry of Education and National Research Foundation of Korea. She will receive 2000만원 annually for research and scholarship for two years.
Through Next Generation Support Project, Ministry of Education and National Research Foundation of Korea support PhD students to actively and independently carry out research on their creative and bold ideas.
Eunji Suh has published on SCI international academic journals such as Advanced Synthesis & Catalysis (IF 5.451), Bioresource Technology (IF 6.669), Metabolic Engineering (IF 7.808) and Chemical Communications (IF 6.164) as the lead author during her master and doctorate degree program time in the last four years. In addition, her research has been acknowledged and she has received excellent presentation awards from several Korean and international symposiums.
With the selection, Eunji Suh plans to analyze oxidative stress of various oxidoreductase including Baeyer-Villiger monooxygenase, key enzyme for biosynthesis of high-functioning new material originating from fatty acids. She also plans to carry out research on improving oxidation stability during reaction.
