YURA Co., Ltd. Donates KRW 300 Million to the Ewha New Era Fund

Ewha Womans University has received a donation of KRW 300 million to the Ewha New Era Fund from YURA Co., Ltd. (President & CEO: Ohm Byung-yoon). The donation will be used for various Ewha development projects under the vision of “Ewha Leading the Era of Great Transformation through Inclusive Innovation.”
As a company specializing in automotive application components, YURA Co., Ltd. manufactures key parts for automotive wiring harnesses such as wires, connectors, and relays. Based on its outstanding technologies, YURA Co., Ltd. exclusively supplies the said parts for major domestic automakers, in addition to operating in a number of countries in Europe, North America, and Asia. Previously, President & CEO Ohm Byung-yoon had invited President Hyang-Sook Lee; Jhungsoo Park, Executive Vice President for Research and External Affairs; Yun Jung Choi, Vice President for University Relations and Development; and Hyemi Lee, Associate Vice President for University Relations and Development to Yura Corporation’s office building in early July, where they took a tour of the company building, including its R&D center, and discussed Ewha’s direction for future development together.
Ewha Womans University held a fund delivery ceremony on July 17, 2025 (Thu.) at the reception room in Pfeiffer Hall to express its gratitude. Representing YURA Co., Ltd. at the event were President & CEO Ohm Byung-yoon; his wife Lee Suk-yeon, Auditor of YURA Co., Ltd. (Education, graduating class of 1963); his daughter Ohm Mun-gyeong, CEO of Sewon Electronics (French Language Education, graduating class of 1988); and his son Ohm Dae-yeol, Vice President & CEO of YURA Co., Ltd. On behalf of Ewha Womans University, the following attended the ceremony to express gratitude for the donation: President Hyang-Sook Lee; Jhungsoo Park, Executive Vice President for Research and External Affairs; Yun Jung Choi, Vice President for University Relations and Development; and Hyemi Lee, Associate Vice President for University Relations and Development.

President & CEO Ohm Byung-yoon observed, “I have always held a special fondness for my wife and daughter’s alma mater, and I am happy to make a contribution for the development of Ewha Womans University through this donation.” Auditor Lee Suk-yeon remarked, “This is my first time visiting my alma mater in a while, and I was amazed to see the remarkable progress it has made.” She added, “I hope Ewha will keep growing as an intellectual cradle for countless women leaders in the future.”
President Hyang-Sook Lee stated, “I am deeply grateful to YURA Co., Ltd. for championing the vision of ‘Ewha Leading the Era of Great Transformation through Inclusive Innovation’ and lending its generous support to Ewha’s development.” She also pledged, “We will make sure to expand and innovate the research and educational infrastructure of Ewha to enhance its global status.”
