Prof. Kim has served as th Chair, Professor in the Department of Dentisty - Division of  Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Ewha Woman University School of Medicine/ Ewha Woman University Hospital. He is responsible for education of students in medical school and graduated school as well as residents and fellows in Ewha Woman University hospital. In addition to teaching in school and hospital, Prof. Kim also has been giving many courses in Korean Dental association and other relate societies. He also participated in publishing textbooks on Dentistry in Korean.
Dr. Kim joined the faculty of the Department of Dentistry, Division of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Ewha Woman University School of Medicine in 2009. Since then, he has been involved in many research activities in Dentistry, especially in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Implant dentistry. Dr. Kim has been trained in periodontics as a Research Associate in Departmnt of Periodontics, University of Pennsylvania 2004-2007. 

1. Development of new treatments against osteonecrosis of Jaw 

 Dr. Kim and colleagues conducted a clinical trial of osteonecrosis of jaw therapy using rhBMP2 since 2013, the first clinical trial of therapy rhBMP therapy on ONJ in Korea. he has pursued development of new treatments against ONJ, such as PRF and BMP therapy. He is especially interested in soft tissue response against osteoporosis-related ONJ. Recently, he investigated the significance of soft tissue healing in ONJ and its role in ONJ. seen in th patients.(Published in Bone). He also tried several clinical studies to improve the Bone augmentation the patients with alveolar bone defect. In this particular area of research, Dr. Kim published more than 20 articles in peer-reviewed international journals. 

2. Clinical understanding of Oral & Maxillofacial disease 

 As a clinician, Dr. Kim has published many papers on diverse disease of the Oral & Maxillofacial regions in major journals in th field of Oral & Maxillofacial surgery. ONJ and sinus augmentation are of his major interest.(Published in JAOMS, Triple O etc ). He has been also involved in the development of an autotransplantation of teeth using cryopreservation technique. 
 
3. Development of new Bone Marker in ONJ 

 Recently, Dr. Kim performed a new method for the analysis of Bone Marker, and developed a diagnosis system for ONJ. (published in BONE)
