Namkyung Yeon Professor

Department of Korean Language & Literature/Interdisciplinary Program of Media, Arts and Humanities

Yeon, Namkyung is a professor of Contemporary Literary Criticism and Korean Language and Literature, specializing in 1960' and In-hoon Choi's literature. Received Ph.D of Arts from Ewha Womans University and served as a post-doctoral researcher in Seoul National University. Recent studies have been focused on the theme of migration as in multicultural literature, following the interest in Korean literature as World Literature. Currently a board member of several academic associations including Journal of Ewha Korean Language and Literature, and The Learned Society of Modern Korean Literature. Thesis articles include "Narrative Response for Memory of Genocide" and "A Study on the Subject of Trans-border in Multi-culture Novels", etc. Published books include Self-reflective Writings in the Works of Choi, In-Hoon and Exploring the 1960s' literary horizons(co-authored), etc.
