Yuseob Kim began research in theoretical population genetics at the University of Rochester and received PhD in 2002. After postdoctoral work at Cornell University and the University of Rochester, he joined faculty in the School of Life Sciences at Arizona State University. In Fall 2010, he moved to the Department of Life Sciences and Division of EcoScience at Ewha Womans University. His research interest is to understand adaptive evolution in natural populations of animals and also pathogens causing human infectious diseases, by constructing mathematical models of population genetic processes and testing their predictions using genomics. He published more than 30 scientific papers including one in 2002 which describes a novel method to infer the evolutionary history of adaptive evolution using DNA sequence polymorphism. He currently serves as an Associate Editor for Molecular Biology and Evolution and BMC Evolutionary Biology.
