Harris Hyun-soo Kim is Associate Professor of Sociology at Ewha Womans University. He received his graduate training at Columbia University and the University of Chicago, where he obtained his master’s degree and doctorate, respectively. His main interests are social network/social capital, ethnic enclave, social determinants of health, and civic engagement and political participation. He recently published a paper on immigrant social capital in Social Science Journal, and has papers forthcoming in International Journal of Public Health and Asian Journal of Social Science, which are all indexed by the SSCI. He also has multiple manuscripts currently under review at Social Science & Medicine, Social Science Quarterly, and Sociological Spectrum, among others. His current projects include a sociological analysis of teenage suicide (with Paul Chang of Harvard) and a cross-national study of political participation (with Ari Adut of University of Texas, Austin).
