Seok Hyang Kim Professor

Kim SeokHyang is a professor of the Department of North Korean Studies at Ewha Womans University. She received anther MA and Ph.D. from the Universtity of Georgia. Her Ph.D. dissertation is: The Juche Ideology of North Korea: Sociopolitical Roots of Ideological Change. Her research topic is ordinary people’s everyday life in North Korea and its’ impact on those defectors’ lives after they left DPRK. She has recently published articles and book as follows: “Study on the Consumption Trend Phenomenon in North Korea after 1990: Based on the Experiences of North Korean Defectors,” North Korean Studies Review (2012), vol. 16, no. 1: 191-216; “Public and Private Discourse on Human Rights in North Korea,” Ewha Journal of Social Science (2012), vol. 27: 243-274; “The Daily Lives of the Disabled in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK): Stories from the DPRK Defectors’ Recollections,” North Korean Studies Review (2011), vol. 15, no. 1: 85-110; “Analysis on the Stories of ‘Honorable Veterans’ and Women who are Committed to Taking Care Them in the Official Discourse of DPRK,” North Korean Studies Review (2010), vol. 13, no. 2: 7-46. 『회령사람들 기억 속 이야기를 들려주다!』(Kookmin University Press. 2013)
