[DEGREE SEEKING] IES Needbased(N) & Volunteer(V) Scholarship Guidelines

2014 Fall Semester
International Exchange Scholarship (IES) Application Announcement

 

Undergraduate or graduate students who are interested in the International Exchange Scholarship may apply as indicated in the details below.

 

1. Types of International Exchange Scholarship
(
Eligibility for the scholarship is limited to students who have a health insurance)

1) International Exchange Scholarship M: Merit based

Foreign students in undergraduate programs who currently are, and will be registered for regular courses for 2014 fall semester

Recipients of the international exchange scholarship M are selected by the school administration. Therefore, students do not need to apply.

 

2) International Exchange Scholarship N: Need based

Foreign students in undergraduate or graduate programs who currently are, and will be registered for regular courses for 2014 fall semester

 

3) International Exchange Scholarship V: Volunteer

Foreign students in undergraduate or graduate programs who currently are, and will be registered for regular courses for 2014 fall semester

 

Students who already are recipients of other scholarships, may also apply for the International Exchange Scholarship. However, the total sum of scholarships should not exceed the amount of the tuition fee.

 

2. Scholarship eligibility, amount, application forms: please refer to the table on the next page

 

3. Duration & form of scholarship: one semester / reduction from the tuition bill

 

4. Application period: June 2nd (Monday) ~ June 25th (Wednesday)
Students do not need to apply for the International Exchange Scholarship (M), as the school administration selects the recipients. 

 

5. Submission of applications: Office of International Affairs / ECC B329 (9 AM ~ 5PM)

(Consists of 3 forms: International Student Application, Personal Statement, Comments/Recommendation of the Advisory Professor)

 

6. Results of scholarship recipients selection:Mid-August / Results will be notified individually by email

(Merit-based)

Foreign students in undergraduate programs who are registered for regular courses. Candidates are required to have earned at least 15 credits* during the previous semester. (There should be no failed subject.)
Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic performance among students whose GPA from the previous semester is 3.0/4.3 or above. ( For foreign students who took Korean Language Courses during the previous semester, the minimum credits for scholarship is 12 credits.)

Eligibility for the scholarship is limited to students whose TOPIK Level is 4 or above. (Exception: International Studies students)

Eligibility for the scholarship is limited to students who have a health insurance

International Exchange Scholarship

N

(Need-based)

Foreign students in undergraduate or graduate programs who are registered for regular courses. Candidates are required to have earned at least 10 credits (undergraduate) / 6 credits (graduate) during the previous semester, and have difficulty in paying the tuition fee.

Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of financial need among candidates whose GPA from the previous semester is 2.0/4.3 or above.

Eligibility for the scholarship is limited to students who have a health insurance

International Exchange Scholarship

V

(For Volunteers)

Foreign students in undergraduate or graduate programs who are registered for regular courses. Candidates are required to have earned at least 10 credits (undergraduate) / 6 credits (graduate) during the previous semester.

Scholarship will be awarded to students with GPA of 2.0/4.3 or above from the previous semester and who have worked as volunteers for the Office of Global Affairs or for students who have acted as a board member of an official foreign student society.

Eligibility for the scholarship is limited to students whose TOPIK Level is 4 or above. (Exception: International Studies students)

Eligibility for the scholarship is limited to students who have a health insurance
