4. Number of Students to be Admitted

There is no limit to the number of international students that can be admitted. Candidates are admitted based on review of their academic ability, through a special admissions process for foreign students.

5. Eligibility

(1) International applicants must be female foreign nationals whose parents are both of foreign nationality.

(2) Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

Undergraduate: High school diploma.

Undergraduate transfer: High school diploma and at least two years of study at a four-year university or other Bachelor’s degree program.

Master's: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

Doctoral: Bachelor's and, if applicable, master's degree from an accredited institution. Note that applicants who only hold a Bachelor’s degree may have to study for a longer period than those who possess a Master’s degree.

(3) Language Requirements:

Applicants must meet one of the following language requirements:

A. The 3rd level certificate or above in the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) for undergraduate application, and the 4th level for transfer or graduate application.

B. One of the following scores for the specific English proficiency test:

- Minimum score: 550 in the TOEFL PBT; 210 in the TOEFL CBT; 80 in the TOEFL IBT; 550 in the TEPS; 5.5 level in the IELTS

C. High school diploma or a bachelor's degree from a Korean or English speaking institution.

D. Being recognized as possessing sufficient proficiency in Korean or English language by Ewha Womans University.

*Applicants with the 3rd level certificate in TOPIK are required to take the 4th level Korean course offered by Ewha Language Center during the first semester, and submit the 4th level certificate in TOPIK prior to graduation.

*Applicants with either condition B or C (applicants who have obtained a high school diploma or a bachelor's degree from English speaking institutions) may only apply for departments or majors conducted in English.

*Depending on the department/major, the applicant may be exempt from the Korean proficiency test requirement.

(4) Visa and Certificate of Admission

Certificate of Admission will be given to registered international students only. Student visas are required for all

degree-seeking international students in Korea. Please check with the consulate or embassy of Korea closest to you for

up-to-date information on how to obtain a student visa.

 

6. Documents to be Submitted

Required

1) A copy of the online application form, personal statement & study plan,

2) Two letters of recommendation

3) An official transcript of academic records and a certificate of (prospective) diploma from the last school attended

4) Passport copies of the applicant and both parents; or other official documents attesting to the nationality of the applicant and both parents

5) Official documents that verify the family relationship between the applicant and both parents,

6) Documents validating language proficiency

7) Evidence demonstrating the applicant’s ability to successfully pursue academic studies

8) Consent to verify education history

Additional

1) Documentary evidence demonstrating the applicant’s ability to successfully pursue academic studies 2) Materials demonstrating applicant’s artistic or athletic ability such as portfolios or videotapes. (Only for applicants applying to Undergraduate College of Music, College of Art & Design, Department of Human Movement Studies, Graduate Division/Department in arts field)

3) Certificate of former employment (if applicable)

4) Completed EGPP, IES scholarship application forms (if applicable)

5) South Korea issued alien registration card copy (if applicable)

 

7. Scholarships and Dormitory

(1) Applying for scholarships

A. Required Documents: Visit the Office of Admissions Website (http://enter.ewha.ac.kr) International Students Download Application Forms

B. Submit the application form with other required documents to the Office of Admissions after registering online

C. Recipients will be selected through a comprehensive evaluation of her ability based on submitted documents.

D. The scholarship result will be notified with the admissions result.

(2) Ewha offers scholarships in conjunction with the Korean Government and with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). For information on how to apply to these scholarships, please visit the specific scholarship page as the application procedures and selection criterion vary.

2) Size: Total 18,568, 6 floors, H shape building with 100 single rooms and 400 double rooms

Only double rooms are available for international students

3) Main facilities: Each room includes a bed, bookshelf, telephone, desk, desk lamp, etc. Rooms have central heating and air conditioning.

2) Size: Total 16,597, 9 floors, shape building with 68 single rooms, 180 double rooms and 22 single rooms for faculty members and researchers

3) Main facilities: Seminar room, study room, computer room, gym, laundry room, cafeteria are available. Each room includes a bed, a bookshelf, telephone, a desk, a desk lamp, etc. Rooms are conditioned central heating and air conditioning

Room rate: 733,000KRW per semester (excluding holidays)

Meal Plan: 416,500KRW/month

Registered international students admitted may be given priority. The dormitory application form should be sent to the Office of Admission after online application along with other documents.
