INTRODUCTION

Institute for Gender and Law has been founded in September, 2008 in order to devote to academic progress and social practice of gender law, one of the special areas to realize the pedagogical goal of Ewha Law School.

From now the Institute enhance academic empowerment to held both domestic and international conferences and provide Ewha law students with opportunities to effectively learn knowledge and understanding on gender law. Furthermore, the Institute will initiate the gender law clinic program and improve legal education program so that the Institute contributes to local communities to serve the women who need legal help throughout the counseling and legal aid.

In addition, the Institute plans to publish a law review such as 'Ewha Journal of Gender and Law' and the gender-related volumes, as a field to activate the study related to gender law and for the scholars to interact their academic product/achievement.

Mission

Institute for Gender and Law has been founded in September, 2008 in order to devote to academic progress and social practice of gender law, one of the special areas to realize the pedagogical goal of Ewha Law School.

The Institute take over the Center for Gender and Law which founded in commemoration of College of Law's 50th anniversary and has been continuously performing both the work on the legislations for the gender equality and the study to implement and develop the gender law curriculum.

From now the Institute enhance academic empowerment to held both domestic and international conferences and provide Ewha law students with opportunities to effectively learn knowledge and understanding on gender law. Furthermore, the Institute will initiate the gender law clinic program and improve legal education program so that the Institute contributes to local communities to serve the women who need legal help throughout the counseling and legal aid.

Organization

The Institute is composed of Research & Development Department, Education & Cooperation Department, Journal Publication Department, Clinic Program Development Department.
