The Center for Excellence in Teaching & Learning (Director: Hyunju Lee) hosted the event titled THE BEST WEEK for two days (Mar. 22nd-23rd) at the Career Lounge in Ewha Campus Complex.

The two-day event aimed to raise awareness about the hybrid-modeled class, a part of THE BEST educational model. Various events – Quiz! Hybrid Model Class, Say What You Want for Hybrid Model Class, and many more – took place in THE BEST WEEK event, attracting around 350 students.

When asked about the benefits of the hybrid model class, the student participants answered that it allows them to manage time efficiently, interact with their professors and other students more effectively, and review the concepts they learned repeatedly, because they can replay professors’ lecture videos over and over. “I wish more courses could be hybrid model classes,” “I hope there can be more hybrid model classes in my major,” some students added. There were opinions like “It would be nice if communication in hybrid model classes can be more facilitated than now,” and “I want more diverse activities for hybrid model classes.”

THE BEST Hybrid Model Class aims to achieve the goal of THE BEST educational model as Ewha’s cutting-edge class model by improving the efficiency and effectiveness of education through the seamless connection of concept learning and applied learning. Introduced in 2022, there were 298 and 84 hybrid model classes for undergraduates and graduates respectively. Now, in the Spring semester of 2023, there are 190 and 81. The Center for Excellence in Teaching & Learning will hear student feedback more actively from various channels and open more of THE BEST hybrid model classes in order to improve the student experience in taking hybrid model classes.
