The Sinchon Store of Youth Ki–woom restaurant, managed by Professor Ji-eun Oh from Ewha College of Science and Industry Convergence, was awarded for Excellence in Management for two consecutive years, winning the Minister’s Award.

This Youth Ki-woom Restaurant Project aims to incubate and provide opportunities of restaurant management to young entrepreneurs. As one of the representative Food/Restaurant entrepreneurship business projects, there are a total of 7 restaurants being managed across the nation. Ewha has been conducting franchise business together with the Seodaemun-Gu Office and E-food Co.,Ltd. as a consortium since 2019. This Sinchon store, located in Sinchon Boxquare, 22-5 Sinchon Station Rd, Seodaemun-Gu, aims to provide opportunities and experiences to run a business for the young generation who are willing to open a food business. You are able to experience field-oriented consulting including rental of the space, cook, sales, promotion, and customized start-up education programs here. There have been 31 teams participating in the start-up incubation program since the project was initiated in 2019, and three of them successfully opened up their brand in Sinchon Boxquare.

The team ‘Venough’ consists of 5 Ewha students of Da-young Lee(Chemistry and Nano Science, 17), Yoon-ha Seong(Textile Design, 16), Hye-min Kang(Bushiness, 18), and Ji-seon Kim(Food Nutrition, 17). The team entered the store from October to November, and produced Vegan pasta with various healthy ingredients. They were recognized for their achievements in conducting collaboration events, gathering Food tasters(evaluators), and producing promotional items based on their Social networking service platform. Moreover, the team continuously developed menus to successfully manage the store.

Professor Ji-eun Oh, who is in charge of the business, has mentioned that, “Students may experience planning and commercialization of restaurant products in consideration of changes in the consumption environment through this business project. And I hope this will become the foundation for a practical start-up in future.” In fact, team ‘Veggie Bear’ and team ‘Chunkie Pie’ from Ewha who have participated in this business in 2019 have succeeded in launching their brands in real.
